REO Technology Platform Certifications

RES.NET — Certified
RES.NET is one of the primary REO and BPO task management platforms used by major mortgage servicers. NRBA — National REO Brokers Association (Member Since 2005)
The National REO Brokers Association is the most recognized professional organization for REO brokers in the United States. NRBA membership requires demonstrated REO transaction history, active platform certifications, and adherence to NRBA professional standards. Five Star REO Certified
The Five Star Institute is the leading professional education and certification organization for mortgage banking and default services professionals. Five Star REO certification demonstrates completion of coursework covering REO disposition, servicer guideline compliance, asset management, and best practices for the default servicing industry.
CDPE — Certified Distressed Property Expert
The CDPE designation is awarded through the Distressed Property Institute and is recognized by servicers and asset managers as a marker of expertise in short sales, REO, and distressed property transactions. CDPE training covers servicer negotiation, investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA), short sale package assembly, and hardship documentation standards.
USDA Certified REO Broker — Dawson’s Management
JoAnn completed USDA REO certification training through Dawson’s Asset Management at the Five Star education conference in Dallas in 2023. This certification qualifies her to handle USDA Rural Development REO assets and comply with USDA-specific disposition requirements.
HUD Local Listing Broker (LLB) — San Luis Obispo County

CSSE — Certified Short Sale Expert

NAR & Professional Designations
CRS — Certified Residential Specialist
The CRS designation, awarded by the Residential Real Estate Council, is one of the most difficult and respected designations in residential real estate. CRS requires a combination of education, production requirements, and demonstrated expertise. Fewer than 3% of all REALTORS hold the CRS designation.
ABR — Accredited Buyer Representative
